With deep technical insight, world‑leading equipment, and decades of regulatory experience, Dynea provides trusted emission testing solutions to customers worldwide.

Understanding emissions

At Dynea, understanding emissions (i.e., volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde) from resins, adhesives, and wood‑based products is a core part of our analytical and technical services. With decades of experience in resin chemistry and product performance, we support both internal development and our global customers by providing reliable, high‑quality emission testing. Our work spans everything from fundamental studies of emission mechanisms to routine testing for regulatory compliance.

Navigating emission regulations

Dynea has extensive competence in navigating emission regulations and standards across the world. Our laboratory performs testing according to all major regional standards, including European methods such as EN 717‑1 and EN 16516, North American ASTM and CARB/TSCA Title VI procedures, and Japanese/SEA standards including JIS, JAS MAFF, and ISO 12460 series. This broad expertise allows us to guide customers in meeting regulatory requirements in their target markets and to help them understand how their products will perform under varying international conditions.

Testing by Dynea cannot substitute any test procedure our customers have to initiate with an authorized independent test institute.

Testing equipment supporting different regions

To support this, Dynea is equipped with a full suite of test environments that recreate regional climate conditions and product‑specific requirements. Our facilities include European and American climate chambers, Japanese acrylic chambers and desiccator setups, gas analysis equipment, perforator systems and more, allowing us to evaluate emissions under exactly the conditions specified by each global standard. This capability ensures accurate, comparable results for a wide range of product types, including particleboard, MDF, laminated beams, flooring, and engineered wood products.

International test methodology

We also play an active role in advancing international test methodology. Dynea contributes to CEN and ISO working groups, participates in global round robin programs, and has organised its own round robin tests as well. This involvement not only ensures high scientific standards in our own work but also positions us at the forefront of global developments in emission testing.
