This alphabetical glossary is the vocabulary we use on health, safety, environment and quality issues.

Audit
Systematic and documented examination in order to determine whether activities and related results conform to planned arrangements, and whether these arrangements are implemented effectively and suitable for implementing the organisation’s policy and achieve it’s objectives.

BS 8800
Guide to occupational health and safety management systems.

Continual improvement
Process of enhancing the management system to achieve improvements in overall performance in line with the organization’s HSEQ-policy.

Environmental preferred product/services
Demonstrate superiority in one or more HSE attributes over competing products/services during its life cycle

HSEQ
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality

HSEQ management system
The overall management system that includes organizational structure, planning, activities, responsibilities, practises, procedures, processes and resources for developing, implementing, achieving, reviewing and maintaining HSEQ-policy.

ISO 9001

ISO 14001
Environmental management systems – Specification with guidance to use.

OHSAS 18001
Occupational health and safety management system. Specification.

Product stewardship
The responsible and ethical management of the Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of a product throughout its total life cycle

RC is a voluntary chemical industry action programme. It is the chemical

safety and environmental performance and to openness about its activities,
achievements, plans and targets.

A process towards a situation where societies can meet their economic, societal and ecological needs of today without compromising on the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Living on Earth’s interests, not its capital.
